How can 'voice' emerge otherwise?

One thing that has come out of this for me is that in order to write something that will touch others, I have to put myself on the page more than I've done in the past.

This means opening my innermost thoughts and letting them flow into the writing. It's a scary concept, but it's easy to see how without it, writing can feel forced, stilted, and... well, false.

Let's hope I can do it, and as always, thanks for your support.SCRIBBLYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09615131425892448844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917370482873485581.post-11077196624384491702009-04-09T09:10:00.000+10:002009-04-09T09:10:00.000+10:00Rejection sucks, doesn't it? What type of fiction do you most love reading? Is it category romance? If so, then maybe you should pursue it, but if it's something else, then perhaps that's what you should be trying.Traceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10932807900624163063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917370482873485581.post-43535654881988079562009-03-29T16:55:00.000+11:002009-03-29T16:55:00.000+11:00Thanks Ellen. In the meantime, I have a few things to figure out.SCRIBBLYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09615131425892448844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4917370482873485581.post-35829457046703458352009-03-29T08:08:00.000+11:002009-03-29T08:08:00.000+11:00Hey Scribbly, sorry to hear about your latest reje...Hey Scribbly, sorry to hear about your latest rejection, but are you able to send your manuscripts somewhere else? I think it's highly possible that what one editor rejects, another may like. Maybe category romance is too limiting simply from the point of view that a single rejection means there's nowhere else to try . . . Maybe you should try chick lit instead. There seem to be many more publishing options. Having said that, you've got to write what you want to write. Good luck.Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01638717802723103872noreply@blogger.com
